Christmas at Bute Park promises to be another popular event this year

Christmas at Bute Park is bringing an all-new layout, brand new installations and an extra half mile of festive magic to the Welsh capital in 2023 – and it’s offering one Caerphilly Observer reading family the chance to visit the experience for themselves.

Wales’ premier festive lights trail, Christmas at Bute Park, is back and it’s bigger than ever – with an all-new layout and a longer trail of illuminations on offer in 2023.

This year, the award-winning event is extending its route and completely revising its layout and range of light installations on offer, creating a never-before seen experience for all those visiting this year.

Ahead of its third annual outing, Christmas at Bute Park is also introducing a new Christmas Village to its 2023 event, which can be accessed from the very start of the trail, and is providing both Standard and Off-Peak tickets – which have been selling fast – for the first time this year too.

Roxy Robinson, Creative Director at From the Fields, the team behind Christmas at Bute Park, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be bringing back Christmas at Bute Park to Cardiff for a third year, and we are so excited to reveal all the fabulous additions we are putting in place for 2023.”

“We’ve listened to feedback and extended the trail, so that it can be enjoyed for longer. It’s also going to be completely different in the way it’s laid out and the range of zones and special effects on offer. We are working with leading lighting designers, as well as local creatives, to bring an all-new look and feel to this year’s event.”

With more than 145,000 tickets sold in 2022, Christmas at Bute Park will be returning to Cardiff city centre from November 24 through to January 1, 2024, bringing six weeks of festive magic with it.

Visitors will be able to enjoy a brand-new layout and improved accessibility to the trail through a shared entrance with Cardiff Council’s Winter Wonderland at the Castle North Gate Entrance to Bute Park, where North Road meets Boulevard De Nantes. The Christmas Village will also offer the option to try food and drink from leading local street traders at both the start and finish of this year’s festivities.
