Newport band Feeder will play Tredegar Park on July 9, 2021

Newport’s Feeder have announced they are to play a homecoming gig this summer at Tredegar Park.

The location can usually host a 10,000 capacity crowd, but organisers Newport Events has said the event will be reduced to 3,000 to “deliver a measured return to events for people to feel safe, relaxed and to have fun”.

The event is not designated a Welsh Government test event and is subject to whether the rules at the time allow the event to take place.

Tickets for the Friday, July 9, event will go on general sale at 10am on Tuesday, May 4 from www.newport-events.com.

Since forming in 1994, Feeder have released ten studio albums, including Echo Park, Comfort of Sound and Renegades, and are responsible for rock anthems including Just the Way I’m Feeling, Tumble and Fall, Just a Day, Feeling a Moment and Buck Rodgers.

Support for the event come from very special guests Brighton indie band The Magic Gang, whose second album Death of a Party received critical and fan adoration worldwide. The line-up also sees two Welsh artists performing, first up is retro rock outfit Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard and disco-infused blues rock from Tom Auton and the Bottle Breakers.
