Damage underneath the railway bridge after a vehicle crashed into it

Train services running through Hengoed and Pengam railway stations are back running as normal following disruption on the line this morning.

The line reopened at around 8.30am after a vehicle crashed into a railway bridge between the two stations, causing some services to be delayed or cancelled.

However, at around 10am this morning, TfW confirmed the debris from the crash had been cleared and services were back to normal.

The crash happened on the lane between Tir y Berth and Penpedairheol, which runs underneath the railway bridge.
