Merthyr Tydfil and Rhymney re-elects Labour’s Dawn Bowden as its Senedd Member

Merthyr Tydfil and Rhymney has re-elected Dawn Bowden as its Senedd Member.

The Labour candidate took 61% of the vote, increasing it by 14.3% from 2016.

Ms Bowden won 13,009 votes, with a majority of 9,311. The turnout was 35%.

Plaid Cymru were second on 3,698, the Welsh Conservatives came third with 2,665.

The Tories increased their share of the vote by 6.2%, while Plaid’s vote share fell by 0.5%.
