Newbridge Leisure Centre will be opening up as a walk-in vaccination centre once again this weekend.

On Saturday, August 14, the leisure centre will be open to anyone aged 18 or over who is still waiting for their second dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine.

Anyone who had their first AstraZeneca vaccine on or before June 19 will be able to attend.

The centre will be open between 10am and 4pm to people living in Caerphilly County Borough, Newport, Torfaen, Blaenau-Gwent and Monmouthshire.

Attendees will need to bring photo ID with them.

The leisure centre has been used as a vaccination centre since the end of January, taking over from Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Ty Penallta headquarters in Tredomen, which was used as a vaccination centre at the beginning of the year.

In recent weeks, it has run numerous walk-in sessions for people still waiting for their vaccine.
