Wales midfielder Aaron Ramsey has left Italian giants Juventus after three years at the club.
Ramsey’s contract with the Turin-based outfit was “mutually terminated” a year early, leaving him without a club.
The 31-year-old, who was born in Caerphilly and attended Ysgol Gyfun Cwm Rhymni, spent the second half of last season on loan at Scottish side Rangers – but his spell in Glasgow was hampered by injury.
He departs Juventus after helping the club to a Serie A title, as well as picking up a Coppa Italia and a Supercoppa Italia.
He joined the club in the summer of 2019 after 11 years at Arsenal. In joining ‘The Old Lady’, Ramsey followed in the footsteps of Welsh footballing icons John Charles and Ian Rush, who also represented Juventus during their illustrious careers.
Ramsey is now a free agent and will be looking for a new club going into the new season.
He has previously been linked with Turkish side Fatih Karagümrük, who are managed by Italian legend Andrea Pirlo – who managed Ramsey at Juventus during the 2020/21 season.
Last month, Ramsey played his part in Wales’ FIFA World Cup qualifying win over Ukraine in Cardiff.
The win saw Wales qualify for this winter’s World Cup in Qatar – the first time Wales will have appeared at a World Cup since 1958.
