A man in his 20s died at Gilfach Fargoed train station, police confirm

British Transport Police attended the scene

A man in his 20s died in the incident at Gilfach Fargoed station on December 30, British Transport Police has confirmed. 

Officers from British Transport Police and Gwent Police were called to the station around 1.30pm along with paramedics but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a statement, British Transport Police said: ”Officers were called to Gilfach Fargoed station at 1.28pm on 30 December following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

“Paramedics also attended, however sadly a man in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene. 

“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
