The moment a 12-year-old boy was hit by a car in Caerphilly town centre over Christmas has been caught on camera.
Connor Ballett was hit at around 3.30pm on Wednesday, December 28 on the pedestrian crossing on Nantgarw Road, next to the Piccadilly pub.
His mother, April Thorne, said her son was left injured and in shock after the collision, in which the car – said by police to be a white Citroen C4 or similar model – reportedly drove off and told Caerphilly Observer he was a “lucky boy”.
He was taken to Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr before being transferred to the Grange University Hospital in Cwmbran, where he was given the all-clear after a nine-hour wait, Ms Thorne said.
Caerphilly Observer understands that someone has now come forward to the police.
Gwent Police has appealed for witnesses of the incident or anyone who was driving along Nantgarw Road between 3pm and 4pm that day to come forward with any information or dash cam footage.
The force can be contacted on 101, or through direct message on Facebook or Twitter, quoting reference 2200432376. Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
