A volunteer showcase is coming to Rhymney in February

A volunteering showcase where people can find out more about how to volunteer and what local activities are taking place is coming to Rhymney.

Hosted by Cwtsh, GAVO (Gwent Association of Voluntary Organisations) and Caerphilly Cares, the event is going to take place at St David’s Community Centre in Rhymney on February 8.

A spokesperson for the event said: “It is an event to show members of the community what volunteering opportunities are available in the local area. It is also an opportunity for local community groups to showcase what wellbeing activities they run on a weekly basis in the Rhymney area.”

The event will feature organisations with volunteering roles available, including St John Ambulance, Rhymney Valley Foodbank, the Furniture Revival and Llamau.

Wellbeing groups will also be on hand including Rhymney Bowls Club, Parent Network and Rhymney Heritage.

Entertainment includes a heritage talk at 3pm, a quiz at 5pm, a performance of traditional Welsh music and a free buffet.

The event starts at 2pm and finishes at 7pm.
