A new charity shop has been officially unveiled in Blackwood.

Sight Cymru has opened on 215 High Street, with the ribbon cut by the High Sheriff of Gwent Malgwyn Davies and the Mayor of Caerphilly County Borough, Cllr Liz Aldworth.

The unveiling was held on February 15, with the shop having opened a couple of weeks earlier.

As well as selling clothing, toys, books, DVDs and CDs to raise money for the charity, the shop also includes a resource centre which sells items to help make everyday life easier for visually impaired people.

Some of these items include notepads with thick lines and large spacing, talking clocks and more.

Staff are also on hand to discuss any sight-related issues people may have and can provide information or direct people with organisations that can help.
