A 13-year-old boy has been taken to hospital after a crash in Caerphilly town this afternoon.
Two women have been arrested in suspicion of drug-driving.
St Martin’s Road in Caerphilly was closed until around 8pm following the crash on the junction between Cardiff Road and Mountain Road.
In a statement, Gwent Police said: “We received a report of a road traffic collision involving a car, a van and pedestrians on St Martins Road, Caerphilly at around 2.40pm on Friday March 31.
“Officers attended along with personnel from the Welsh Ambulance Service.
“A 13-year-old boy has been taken to hospital for treatment.”
Police said two women from Cardiff, aged 51 and 42, who were in the van were arrested on suspicion of causing injury through careless driving and drug-driving. Thet are currently in custody.
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called today, Friday March 31, at approximately 2.40pm, to reports of an incident on Cardiff Road in Caerphilly.
“We sent five rapid response vehicles, four emergency ambulances, one basic doctor and the Hazardous Area Response Team to the scene.
“We were also supported by colleagues from the Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service.
“Three patients were transferred to University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, for further treatment.”
