The hunt is on in Bargoed this Easter.

A free Easter egg trail has been organised by Caerphilly County Borough Council running until April 17.

There is a trail across the whole town where the aim is to find ten wooden eggs hidden in shops using clues on maps available from Bargoed Library.

Each egg has a word on it and if all ten words are collected then a chocolatey prize awaits.

One aim of the activity is to encourage visitors to the town centre.

This follows on from the Elf Trail activity take took place at Christmas in Bargoed and Newbridge.

The trail is accessible and will encompass all of Bargoed town centre.

What else is happening across the borough this Easter?

At Caerphilly Castle, an Easter egg trail, colouring in and card-making is taking place daily from April 16, from 11am to 3pm.

Participation requires purchasing an admission ticket to the castle with more information, including prices, available here.

On Friday April 14 there will be a Family Mega Day at Blackwood Rugby Club.

The event will run from 10am to 3pm and is put on by GAVO in partnership with Caerphilly County Borough Council.

With activities including crafts, storytelling, colouring, dance and Tae Kwon Do demonstrations and even some friends from Dragons Mascots.

As it is the annual One Beat event, there will also be information and advice from a wide range of organisations from the third sector.
