Police confirm death of man pulled from Rhymney River

Emergency services were called to Machen after a report of a body in the Rhymney River

The body of a man has been pulled from the Rhymney River in Machen, police have confirmed.

Gwent Police said officers were called to a report of a body in the river at around 10.20am on Monday April 24. A spokesperson said the death is not being treated as suspicious.

Crews from South Wales Fire and Rescue were also called as well as paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service.

Emergency services were seen parked at the bus stop on the east bound side of Chatham, not far from a green bridge.
