Jazz sessions are taking place at St Gwaldys’ Church Hall every Sunday

Weekly jazz band sessions have come to Bargoed and everyone is welcome to come along.

Aventurion Emeralds started their sessions at St Gwladys’ Church Hall on April 30 and will be practising there every Sunday from 1pm to 5pm.

The marching band and charitable organisation from Cardiff is coming to Caerphilly borough to encourage members of all ages to join or just come along and enjoy the music.

Kazoos, drums, marimba, xylophone and glockenspiel are all played in the band.

The band is looking for funding from businesses to buy more instruments and a minibus to travel to competitions to compete across the UK.

St Gwladys’ Church Hall is a grassroots project run by the Church in Wales, which puts on several classes throughout the week and runs a Fareshare Project and craft group.

Miriam Page, 32, project coordinator, previously spoke to Caerphilly Observer about activities at the hall and said: “Our belief is to just provide healthy and wellbeing-focused activities for the community.

“We try to be a space for everyone to come in,” Miriam added, “we try to cater for all abilities in our different groups.

“If there is anything missing we’re always looking for suggestions for new groups to start.”
