Gwent Police are appealing for witnesses

A 17-year-old boy and a 48-year-old woman have been taken to hospital after a collision involving a motorbike and a bicycle.

The collision happened on the road between Tredegar and Abertysswg between 3pm and 4pm on Thursday May 25.

Officers from Gwent Police attended the incident along with personnel from the Welsh Ambulance Service.

In a statement, Gwent Police said the rider of the motorbike – believed to be the 17-year-old boy – reportedly left the scene after the collision.

The motorbike was described as being dark in colour with yellow and orange details.

Both the 17-year-old boy and 48-year-old woman, who was on the bicycle, are in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

Police have urged anyone who was travelling along the road between 3pm and 4pm, or anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage from the area, to contact them.

Gwent Police can be contacted on 101, or through direct message on Facebook or Twitter, quoting reference 2300170711. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
