A charitable group raising money for both local and international causes is looking for new members to support its fundraising efforts.
The Caerphilly Lions Club is a branch of Lions Club International, which is a global organisation with more than 1.4 million members and around 46,000 groups worldwide.
Up until recently, the club organised an annual peace poster competition to promote world peace among school pupils.
Over Christmas, the Lions raised £1,200 for local causes by arranging Father Christmas’ visit to Caerphilly Asda.
It also recently made a donation to 2nd Penyhreol Brownies, which is based at St Andrew’s Church.
The Lions meet at Caerphilly Golf Club for monthly business meetings, which are held on the first Wednesday of each month.
Its social meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month and usually consists of a meal at a pub.
The Caerphilly Lions also has a ukulele band, which plays in local care homes and nursing homes.
The band is open to anyone interested in playing or learning to play the ukulele, even if they’re not members of the Lions.
