Help wanted in library vandalism case

Aberbargoed Library was recently vandalised

Caerphilly Libraries are appealing for help after Aberbargoed Library was vandalised last week. 

The incident took place at around 6.50pm on Friday June 2.

Social media images revealed a damaged door leading with broken wooden slats and debris scattered on the floor. 

On Twitter, Caerphilly Libraries requested that anyone with information contact Gwent Police quoting Crime Reference Number 2300181368.

Caerphilly Library service said: “The damage took place to the external shed that we use to store our refuse bins and not to the library itself.

“On posting this to our FB page, we’ve disabled the comments and are asking if anyone has information to directly contact Gwent Police, using the Incident Number we provided.”

In a statement, Gwent Police said: “Officers attended and searched the area, no persons were seen to be acting in an anti-social manner.

“We’re committed to protecting our communities and will take action against anyone intent on causing harm or disorder.“If you have any concerns or witness anti-social behaviour, please call us on 101 or DM us on Facebook or Twitter.”
