A wildfire has broken out in Tirphil and is still ongoing, South Wales Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed. 

The wildfire is on the square, Tirphil, and was reported to the Fire Service at approximately 10.46am this morning, June 14. 

A spokesperson for South Wales Fire Service told Caerphilly Observer: “Multiple crews are in attendance.

“Specialist equipment including fire beaters, leaf blowers and a helicopter have been utilised to manage the fire.

“The incident is ongoing.”
