Gwent Police are looking to speak to two people in connection with a deliberate house fire in Gelligaer over the weekend.

A house fire in Greenhill Place, Gelligaer, began at around 2.30am on Sunday April 30 and left a 26-year-old woman and a five-year-old boy requiring treatment for minor injuries.

In a statement, Gwent Police have said they believe the fire had been started deliberately, and that they’re looking to speak to two people who were seen on CCTV in the area before the fire started.

The force added: “Investigating officers would like to speak to two people who were seen in Greenhill Place at the time of the fire.

“They reportedly left the area on foot in the direction of Hamman Place before they got into a dark coloured car and are believed to have headed in the direction of Bargoed.”

Enquires are ongoing and anyone with information, including CCTV or dashcam footage can contact Gwent Police on 101, quoting log reference 2300138393.
