Bargoed Gardening Club is holding their 30th annual charity fête this September.

The event will take place at Bargoed Community Centre on September 2 from 12pm to 2pm –  with all proceeds going to a local charity.

This year’s charity will be the Bargoed Fareshare Project run by St Gwladys Church.

The gardening club, which has around 35 to 40 members, meets weekly and has speakers and activities covering a wide range of topics from taking cuttings, jobs in the garden and conservation to specialist evenings on flowers such as roses and fuchsias.

Admission is 50p and cut flowers, cakes and jams, plants, cakes and crafts will be for sale along with refreshments – the club hopes to raise around £2000 from the event.

Bargoed Gardening Club meet every week in Bargoed Community Centre.

The Fareshare Project takes place at St Gwladys’ Church Hall every Monday from 1.30pm to 2.30pm.
