Gwent Police have confirmed that they are looking for information after a sheep was shot with an arrow near Markham.
The animal was discovered on Sunday June 26 at around 11am with an arrow in its chest on the mountain road between Tredegar and Markham.
The arrow was subsequently removed and the sheep is now recovering from its injuries.
Gwent Police estimate that the event took place between the evening of Saturday June 25 and the following morning.
Police are still appealing for information on the case.
