A £1,000 reward has been offered to anyone who can provide information on the whereabouts of an ex-soldier wanted back in prison.

Leon Wells, 40, of Abertysswg, was released from prison on January 28, 2022. However, police say he has breached the conditions of his release and has now been recalled.

Wells was serving a 28-month sentence for breaching a serious crime prevention order, which he was handed back in November 2020.

It came after he failed to inform authorities of a secret mobile phone and Facebook account he was using. The phone was examined by police, who discovered he had been using it to contact people involved in organised crime.

He was also sentenced in April 2020 for four offences, including criminal damage and assault, after forcing his way into a woman’s home and assaulting her.

He previously served a three-year jail sentence in 2009 for manslaughter after punching Alan Brown in an unprovoked attack in Tredegar.

Gwent Police appealed for information on Wells’ whereabouts back in May. Now, Crimestoppers, which can be contacted anonymously, has offered a reward to anyone who can help locate him.

Anyone with information on Wells’ whereabouts can call 101, quoting reference number CS2211-18822.

A reward of up to £1,000 is available for the anonymous information on the whereabouts of Leon Wells.
