Darts star Gerwyn Price will look to go one better this year as he competes at the World Matchplay in Blackpool.
Price, from Markham, was beaten in last year’s final by Michael van Gerwen – but will be heading into this year’s competition on the back of Wales’ World Cup of Darts win.
World number four Price will face world number 24 Stephen Bunting in his opening game in the competition on Saturday July 15.
The winner of that clash will face either Joe Cullen or Mike De Decker in the second round.
The tournament, which is being held at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens, will conclude on Sunday July 23.
Meanwhile Jonny Clayton, who partnered Price during last month’s World Cup of Darts victory, faces German number one Gabriel Clemens on Monday July 17.
The tournament will see 32 players compete across nine days of action for £800,000 in prize money, with the winner taking home £200,000 and the coveted Phil Taylor Trophy.
