Gerwyn Price will be looking to defend his New Zealand Darts Masters title as he takes on Australia’s Simon Whitlock on Friday August 4.
Price, from Markham, won the competition back in 2022 and is one of 16 competitors at the event in Hamilton this year.
The two-day tournament will also feature the likes of reigning world champion Michael Smith, as well as Peter Wright, Rob Cross, Nathan Aspinall, Dimitri van den Bergh and more.
Price will be hoping to get back to his best following an early exit at the World Matchplay last month, but faces a stern test against Australia’s Whitlock, who helped his country to World Cup of Darts glory in 2022.
Fellow Welshman Jonny Clayton, who was beaten by Price in last year’s final, has pulled out of this year’s edition for family reasons.
