Newbridge RFC lifting the Division One Cup over the weekend
Newbridge RFC lifting the Division One Cup last season

Men’s rugby union sides across Caerphilly County Borough are gearing up ready for the new season to begin on September 2.

There are no teams from the borough competing in the Premiership – Wales’ top tier – this season, but there are five teams competing in the new-look National Championship, which is the second tier of Welsh rugby.

The league has been split into east and west divisions for the upcoming season, with Bargoed, Bedwas, and Cross Keys joined by newly-promoted Newbridge and Penallta in the Championship East.

In the divisions below, there will be teams from all corners of Caerphilly County Borough battling it out for promotion or fighting for survival.
