The Bedwellty Show is returning to Llancaiach Fawr this weekend

Wales’ second oldest agricultural show is set to return this weekend.

The Bedwellty Show, which is held at Nelson’s Llancaiach Fawr, will take place on Saturday August 19.

The family-friendly day consists of tractor and vintage car displays, trade stands and craft stalls, as well as the usual livestock.

This year will mark the 144th edition of the show, which first moved to Llancaiach Fawr in 2016.

The show formally began in the 1870s, but records show that similar events had been held in and around Blackwood for many years before.

Earlier this year, it celebrated its 150th anniversary – with a special event held at Church Farm, Mynyddislwyn.

Adult tickets cost £10, while children aged between 12 and 16 can enter for £5.

Tickets are free for children aged 11 and under.

A family ticket, which is for two adults and up to three children, costs £25.

Visit the Bedwellty Show’s website to buy tickets for this year’s event.
