It’s been two months since Caerphilly County Borough celebrated its first Pride event.

Pride Caerffili took place on June 24 and the town was awash with rainbows flags, banners and bunting.

Almost 24,000 visitors came to the town to enjoy the activities, including a parade and entertainment in Twyn car park and Castle court.

Caerphilly Observer spoke to politicians involved in organising the first-ever council-run event event as well as a Senedd Member and MP to find out how the event came about, what pride means to them and what still needs to be done.

Pride Caerffili is set to return in 2024 on Saturday June 15.
