The majority of games were called off on Saturday November 4 due to Storm Ciaran

Newbridge moved up to third in the WRU National Championship East table after a resounding 45-20 win over Glamorgan Wanderers on a weekend plagued by postponements.

There was also a win for Cross Keys, who moved up to sixth in the league with a bruising 44-10 victory at home to St Peters.

However, an all-Caerphilly County Borough affair between struggling Bedwas and high-flying Bargoed was postponed – meaning Bargoed fall to second in the league having played a game less than leaders Ystrad Rhondda.

Penallta‘s visit to Treorchy was also postponed on the weekend as Storm Ciaran hit.

Postponements were in full force down in League One East, with Senghenydd‘s home clash with Brynmawr, and a derby match between Ynysddu and Nelson, both falling victim.

However, Risca‘s trip to Monmouth went ahead, but the Cuckoos were narrowly beaten 23-19 and remain bottom of the division and winless this season.

Meanwhile, Blackwood‘s League Two East match-up with Newport HSOB was also called off, as was Caerphilly‘s visit to Llantwit Fardre in League Two East Central.

In League Three East, Abertysswg Falcons were beaten 27-19 away to Blaina, but Rhymney‘s trip to Llanhilleth, and Abercarn‘s derby with Fleur de Lys, were both off.

Down in League Four East, Crumlin remain top of the table after their fifth win in six games – beating local rivals Hafodyrynys 24-0 at home.

Blackwood Stars had their match against Whiteheads postponed, while the New Tredegar v Bettws game didn’t go ahead either.

Postponements also caused problems in League Five East, with Pontllanfraith‘s away day at Abersychan Alexanders, as well as Hollybush‘s trip to West Mon, not going ahead.

It was a similar story in League Six East, where all four fixtures were cancelled. These included Cwmcarn United‘s game with Girling, as well as the all-borough match-up between Trinant and Deri.
