Bedwas ended a run of three consecutive losses by beating struggling Treorchy

Newbridge have climbed to second in the WRU National Championship East after a 16-6 win over Caerphilly County Borough rivals Bargoed on Saturday November 18.

It means Bargoed dropped to third in the league after only their second defeat in eight games.

Meanwhile, Bedwas‘ four-game losing streak came to an end with a 36-15 win away to winless Treorchy.

It sends Bedwas up to ninth in the table, while Penallta drop to 11th after a 34-7 loss away to Cross Keys.

Down in League One East, Ynysddu moved top of the league after a 20-10 home win over Senghenydd, who drop to seventh.

Nelson remain fifth after a comprehensive 66-8 demolition of Pontypool United.

However, Risca‘s wait for a first win of the season continues after their fixture with Abergavenny was postponed.

It was a similar story for Oakdale, who are now bottom of League Two East after their match at Croesyceiliog was called off. Table-toppers Blackwood RFC had a bye week so were not in action.

Over in League Two East Central, Caerphilly‘s trip to Gilfach Goch was also postponed.

Meanwhile, Abercarn remain top of League Three East after a 13-13 draw at home to Abertysswg Falcons, who climb to fourth.

Elsewhere in the division, Fleur de Lys beat RTB Ebbw Vale 19-18 at home to climb third.

But there were defeats for Machen, who lost 17-11 at home to Chepstow, while Rhymney fell 27-19 at Nantyglo.

Dropping down to League Four East and league leaders Crumlin crushed Whiteheads 57-0 as their impressive start to the season continued.

However, the other borough sides in that division were all on the wrong side of big results.

Hafodyrynys were beaten 41-11 at New Panteg, while New Tredegar fell 38-0 at home to Newport Saracens. Blackwood Stars also suffered defeat, losing 37-10 at Gwernyfed.

Bedwellty‘s away day at St Julians was postponed.

There was little to report in League Five East, with neither table-toppers Pontllanfraith or Hollybush in action.

Postponements also hit League Six East, with Trinant‘s game with Magor called off, while bottom-placed Cwmcarn United were not in action.

However, there was delight for Deri who move top of the table after a 52-3 win at Hartridge.
