Bedwas pulled off one of the shocks of the season when they put league leaders Ystrad Rhondda to the sword

Bedwas stunned league leaders Ystrad Rhondda with a 46-17 win at the Bridgefield on Saturday November 25.

Following a run of four defeats in a row, Bedwas have now won two on the bounce and move up to eighth in the WRU National Championship East table.

Meanwhile, Bargoed have reclaimed second place in the table after cruising to a 49-5 victory at home to St Peters.

The Bulls leapfrog Newbridge, who have dropped down to fourth after their fixture with winless Treorchy was postponed.

Cross Keys are down to fifth after a 24-24 draw at Glamorgan Wanderers, while Penallta‘s tough start to the season continued with a 40-16 loss at home to Beddau.

Down in League One East, Ynysddu have fallen off top spot after falling 27-26 at new leaders Talywain.

Nelson also suffered defeat, losing 25-21 at home to Monmouth – while Risca remain winless after a 36-27 loss at Bedlinog.

Senghenydd were the only Caerphilly County Borough side to claim a win in League One East over the weekend, beating Blaenavon 13-5 to rise to sixth.

Over in League Two East, Blackwood RFC have dropped to fourth after they were beaten 24-20 at home to Abertillery.

There was no joy for Oakdale either, who are still bottom of the table after a 35-6 defeat at Newport HSOB.

Elsewhere, Caerphilly lost 27-20 at home to Pentyrch in League Two East Central.

Down in League Three East, Abertysswg Falcons saw off Fleur de Lys 26-22 in the first of two all-Caerphilly derbies.

The other derby saw Rhymney earn a big 41-17 win at home to Machen.

Meanwhile, league leaders Abercarn beat Llanhilleth 36-7 away to retain their grip at the top.

Crumlin, who sat top of League Four East going into the weekend’s fixtures, fell to second after their clash with Gwernyfed was postponed.

Bedwellty‘s home tie with New Tredegar was also postponed.

However, Hafodyrynys earned a narrow 27-24 win away at St Julians.

But Blackwood Stars were on the wrong end of a 72-11 drubbing when they hosted New Panteg.

Over in League Five East, Hollybush played only their second league game of the season, defeating Beaufort 20-19 to make it two wins from two.

Finally, Deri have made it five wins from five and sit top of League Six East after demolishing Old Tylerian 78-7 at home.

There was also victory for Trinant, who saw off Girling 24-20 away to climb up to fourth.
