The lane between Pentrebane Street and Stockland Street, which runs parallel to Ludlow Street, in Caerphilly, was taped off on Boxing Day morning

Two women, aged 19 and 21, have been hospitalised after an alleged assault in the early hours of Boxing Day.

Gwent Police said its officers, and staff from the Welsh Ambulance Service, were called to Ludlow Street in Caerphilly town at 12.30am on December 26.

A total of four people have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

Two men, both aged 22-years-old; a 23-year-old man; and a 21-year-old woman are all in police custody.

Inspector Andrew Boucher said: “Officers will be making further enquiries at this time and will remain at the scene as the investigation progresses.

“It is possible that you may see ongoing police activity in Caerphilly as part of this work, if you have concerns or information then please do stop and talk with us.”

Anyone with information can call Gwent Police on 101, or direct message the force on social media, quoting log reference 2300437242.
