Two men were arrested after armed police were called to a street in Bargoed on Saturday, January 6.
Gwent Police said it received a report of a disturbance in Upper Wood Street at around 8.45pm.
Officers attended, along with specially-trained firearms officers as a precaution, after receiving a report that a man was making threats while holding a knife.
A 35-year-old man from the Bargoed area was arrested on suspicion of affray and criminal damage, he has since been charged.
A 32-year-old man from the Bargoed area was also arrested on suspicion of criminal damage. He has since been released with no further action.
Police said no injuries were reported.
