The fixed speed camera in Trethomas has been off since the summer of 2023

The fixed speed camera on Newport Road, Trethomas, has been flashing speeding motorists, but is currently “not processing offences”, according to GoSafe.

The company in charge of ‘fixed’ speed cameras in Wales last told Caerphilly Observer in November 2023 that the camera remained off, having been vandalised several months prior.

Asked when the camera will be fully operational, GoSafe said it would make announcements on its website.

However, GoSafe has confirmed the camera will soon start catching motorists driving faster than 20mph.
