Around 35 people attended a vigil outside Caerphilly Castle to remember Palestinians lost in the war between Israel and Gaza.

Organiser Suzy McGarrity was joined by other Caerphilly residents, as well as Senedd Member Peredur Owen Griffiths, who made a speech to the group when they met on Sunday January 21.

The group Caerphilly for Palestine last met in November 2023, when they held another vigil in the town.

Like last time, songs in support of the Palestinian cause were sang, and speeches were made.

Adam Johannes, from Cardiff Stop the War, was in attendance, and spoke about the links between Caerphilly and Palestine.

He also encouraged the public to boycott Israeli products, according to Ms McGarrity.

Ms McGarrity went on to say that the group has had a lot of positive interaction via social media.
