As Wales travelled to Twickenham for their Six Nations encounter with England over the weekend, most rugby clubs in Caerphilly County Borough had the weekend off.
However, there was no rest for Bargoed, Crumlin, Bedwellty, and Trinant – who were all in league action.
Bargoed’s WRU National Championship East title bid was boosted with a 26-25 win away to Beddau, sending the Bulls into second place, six points behind leaders Cardiff Met with two games in hand.
Down in League Four East, Crumlin climbed to the top of the table despite a 31-24 home loss to Bedwellty.
Elsewhere, Trinant are up to third in League Six East, following their 22-5 home win over Trinant.
