Penallta and Oakdale were the only Caerphilly County Borough sides to take to the field over the weekend

It was a disappointing result for Penallta over the weekend, with the Pitmen beaten 40-6 away at league leaders Cardiff Met in the WRU National Championship East.

The win sees Cardiff Met extend their lead at the top of the table to six points. However, second place Bargoed, who did not play on the weekend, have three games in hand.

Elsewhere in the league, an all-Caerphilly County Borough affair between Cross Keys and Bedwas was called off due to poor weather.

Meanwhile, Nelson’s visit to Risca in League One East was also postponed.

Down in League Two East, Oakdale, who sit one point above the relegation zone, were dismantled away to Abertillery – with the hosts running riot in a 54-0 win.

There were no borough sides in action in League Two East Central, League Three East, or League Four East – with no fixtures scheduled in League Five East or League Six East either.
