A new Chinese massage parlour “aimed at enhancing wellness and promoting relaxation” could be coming to Caerphilly.

The premises at 4 Clive Street is currently home to a dental practice, but has been put on the market, according to planning documents submitted to Caerphilly Council.

Applicant Ka Long Lin, from Essex, has applied for planning permission to convert the ground floor property into a “Chinese traditional massage and wellbeing centre”.

In his application, he said the redevelopment will involve creating a “dedicated space” for traditional massage.

Plans show two rooms currently in use as dental clinical spaces, as well as a current reception area, will become massage rooms, if the plans are approved.

Mr Lin hopes to create a “peaceful and restorative environment” at the proposed massage parlour.

Major work to the building will be limited to interior changes, except for new signs on the shop front.

One of the premises’ two bathrooms will also be adapted to include a shower, plans show.

Mr Lin also expects to employ three full-time members of staff at the massage parlour, if the council approves his plans.

The application can be viewed on the Caerphilly County Borough Council website under reference 24/0200/COU.
