The branch could reopen on 34 Jones Street

Phillipstown post office, which closed its doors in February this year, could reopen in a new location.

The Post Office proposes opening a new branch at Evan’s Grocers on 34 Jones Street from May or June.

It was previously located at 5 Derlwyn Road.

The store would be open from 7am to 10pm, Monday to Saturday, and from 8am to 9pm on Sundays.

The plan is under consultation, with the public asked to provide feedback until May 9.

Public consultation questions

The Post Office is interested in comments on the following:

• How easy is it to get to the proposed new location?

• Are the new premises easy for you to get into and are they easily accessible once inside?

• Are there any other local community issues which you believe could be affected by or affect the proposed post office move?

• If the move were to proceed, is there anything we could do to make it easier for customers?

Members of the public can provide feedback at postofficeviews.co.uk using its name, postcode, or branch code 250632.

Submissions can also be emailed to comments@postoffice.co.uk, or via post or telephone before April 19.
