A criminal who was jailed for possessing an offensive weapon has been recalled to prison following his release.

Nikki Griffiths, 41, from the Blackwood area, was sentenced at Newport Magistrates’ Court in November, where he was jailed for six months and one day.

However, Gwent Police said Griffiths has breached the conditions of his release from prison, and has now been recalled.

The force does not disclose what the licence conditions were, or what conditions have been broken.

Gwent Police has urged people not to approach Griffiths if they see him, and instead call 999.

He is said to have links to the Newport and Cardiff areas.

Anyone with information on Griffiths’ whereabouts can contact Gwent Police on 101 or through direct message on social media, quoting log reference 2400125477.

Crimestoppers can also be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
