The general election is being held on July 4

General election husting events for the Caerphilly, and Newport West and Islwyn constituencies have been announced.

Trethomas-based charity The Parish Trust will be holding its event on Thursday June 27 at 7pm. Candidates standing for election in the Caerphilly constituency have been invited to take part and if they are unable to attend, they have been asked to nominate someone from their party to represent them.

Rev Dean Aaron Roberts, chief executive of The Parish Trust, will host the evening.

He said: “At The Parish Trust, we believe in the power of community engagement and informed citizenship. Being a charity based in Caerphilly, hosting this hustings event is our way of ensuring that everyone in the Caerphilly constituency has the opportunity to voice their concerns and engage directly with their candidates.

“We aim to foster a respectful and open dialogue that empowers our community to make informed decisions in the upcoming general election.”

Visit the Parish Trust website for more information and to book a place.
