Nominations for an award ceremony celebrating volunteer heroes from across Caerphilly County Borough are now open.

The annual Gwent Association of Voluntary Organisations (GAVO) Awards returns once again later this year, and is set to be held at Blackwood Miners’ Institute in October.

Individuals and groups can be nominated for the following categories:

  • Trustee and Director
  • Food Sustainability
  • Sport and Leisure
  • Community Advocate
  • Environmental
  • Inspirational Young Person (14-25)
  • Family Champion
  • Health and Wellbeing

One winner and one runner up will be chosen for each category by a panel of local community representatives, where they will be invited to attend the regional awards later in the year.

Nominations can be made on GAVO’s website by completing an online form – with the deadline at 5pm on Friday July 19.

Contact volunteering@gavo.org.uk for more information.
