No reported injuries as fire deemed deliberate

A fire at a disused property in Ystrad Mynach was caused deliberately, South Wales Fire and Rescue Service has said.

No injuries have been reported, with the fire happening on Penallta Road at around 8.45pm on Monday July 15.

Firefighters attended the scene alongside Gwent Police officers.

A Gwent Police spokesperson said: “No persons were inside the property and no injuries were reported.

“The fire service has deemed the fire to be deliberate and enquiries are ongoing.”
