A monument in Lansbury Park has been given a ‘facelift’ by the council, 20 years after it was first installed.

Local stonemason Paul Horne carried-out the work to the monument earlier this summer, which had become damaged over time.

Funding for the work was provided from Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Caerphilly Homes team, responsible for delivering housing services across the borough, and its business enterprise renewal team.

Cllr Jamie Pritchard, the council’s deputy leader, said: “Residents had raised concerns about the decaying structure, so we were keen to do something about it. We were pleased to be able to support a local artist and delighted to see the results of his efforts.”
