Principality Stadium, Cardiff

Wales’ matches in the upcoming Autumn Nations Series will be broadcast live on S4C.

This November, Wales’ men’s rugby union side will face Fiji, Australia, and world champions South Africa in Cardiff.

The rights to show these games with English commentary are held by pay-to-view TNT Sports. However, its parent company, Warner Bros Discovery, has struck a deal with S4C that will allow the broadcaster to show the games in Welsh on free-to-air television.

The deal will cover this year’s series and next year’s.

Graham Davies, S4C’s head of sport, said: “It’s great to be able to announce that the Wales men’s Autumn Nation Series will be live on S4C for the next two years, showing that S4C is the home of Welsh sport.

“We know how important Welsh rugby, and the international games, are to our audiences, and we are proud to be working in partnership with Warner Bros Discovery.

“We’re grateful to have the opportunity to offer these games for free, in Welsh, on S4C.”

Trojan Paillot, of Warner Bros Discovery Sports Europe, said: “Co-broadcasting the Welsh national team fixtures against Fiji, Australia and South Africa alongside an outstanding partner such as S4C matches our ambition to making those three internationals as widely available as possible to viewers in Wales.”

Culture secretary vows push to keep free-to-air Six Nations games

Point to prove

Fiji will be Wales’ first opponents on Sunday November 10, before they host Australia on November 17.

The final challenge for Warren Gatland’s team will be against the 2023 Rugby World Cup champions, the Springboks, on Saturday November 23.

All three matches will be played at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium.

The series follows a disappointing 2024 so far for Wales, having lost to South Africa at Twickenham and twice against the Wallabies, on top of a wooden spoon in the Six Nations.

The young Wales side will look to gain some momentum this autumn ready for next year’s Six Nations campaign.
