Cefn Hengoed’s post office to reopen next month

The Post Office runs out of a Nisa Local in Cefn Hengoed
Cefn Hengoed’s post office, which is based at the Nisa Local store, will reopen in October

Cefn Hengoed’s post office, which has been closed since April, is set to reopen next month.

The post office, at Magnum Stores on Hengoed Avenue, will reopen under new management on Monday October 7.

The post office closed following the retirement of postmistress Lynn Hobbs, who ran the post office for ten years, and the Magnum Stores for 40 years.

Following her retirement, Lynn was presented with a long service award from the Post Office for reaching the decade milestone.

Santosh Samudrala, Post Office area change manager, said: “We are delighted to be restoring Post Office services to Cefn Hengoed as we know how important a post office is to a community.”

The post office will be open between 8.30am and 5.30pm from Monday to Sunday.
