Film night, live music, and a classic car show. What’s on this weekend and beyond

🎥 Friday Night Film Night at Newbridge Memo at 7pm. No need to book tickets – just come along and enjoy a free screening in the 1920s auditorium.

🎶 A Vinyl Pop-Up Record Shop will be at Ffos Caerffili on Saturday September 28 from 10am  to 4pm. Live music is also scheduled for 6.30pm.

💚 Islwyn Indoor Bowls Club in Blackwood is hosting an open day later this month to try and gain new members.

The free session will run between 12pm and 4pm on Saturday at the club on Gelli Lane, Blackwood.

🍪 Caerphilly’s Castle Court is holding its regular craft and food market on Saturday. Around 20 local small businesses will be showcasing their hand-crafted and hand-baked products from 10am to 4pm.

🌷 Fleetwood Mac tribute act Fleetwood Shack will be at Caerphilly Workmen’s Hall this Saturday. Tickets are £22 from the hall’s website.

🚗 A free classic vehicle show will be held on Sunday September 29, starting at 12pm and finishing at 4pm inside Bedwas, Trethomas and Machen Community Gardens on Newport Road, Bedwas.

Organised by BTM Community Council, there will be classic cars, bikes, lorries, and buses on display, as well as performances from New Horizons Youth Theatre and other local performers.

The Ruperra Castle Preservation Trust will be there, and food and drink will be on offer from Bedwas Workmen’s Hall.

🎸 The Fork and Tune at Cwmcarn Hotel is hosting live music on Saturday between 5pm and midnight. Bands Monet, Rainy Day Rainbow, and The Milk Jam Experience will be playing.

🌱 Ffos Caerffili is holding a plant fair on Sunday September 29 between 10am and 4pm.

🎃 Caerphilly Uniform Exchange, based at 43 Attlee Court, Lansbury Park, is opening its Halloween Costume Shop on October 1. Costumes and accessories from £1 per item, or bring an old outgrown costume to swap. Open Tuesdays and Thursdays 10am to 2pm throughout October.

♦️ Cards and coffee at Caerphilly Miners Centre every Wednesday between 1pm and 3pm. Open to everyone, whether you’re a seasoned card player or someone looking to learn new games.

🗣 English language classes for non-native speakers are held every Wednesday at Nelson Library between 2pm and 4pm.

✒️ Ystrad Mynach Library is hosting a free Creative Writing Course every Friday between 2pm and 4pm.

🎼 Ystrad Mynach Male Voice Choir is celebrating its 60th anniversary with a celebratory concert at Newbridge Memo on Friday October 4. 7pm with doors open from 6.30pm.

Tickets are £10 for adults and £8 for concessions and can be booked by calling 01495243252.
