Friday October 4

🎼 Ystrad Mynach Male Voice Choir is celebrating its 60th anniversary with a celebratory concert at Newbridge Memo at 7pm, with doors open from 6.30pm.

Tickets are £10 for adults and £8 for concessions and can be booked by calling 01495243252.

🎵 The White Rose Singers and Merthyr Aloud World Choir are presenting an autumn evening of song at St David’s Church, High Street, Rhymney at 7.30pm.

Saturday October 5

🛠 A Repair Café will be held at Caerphilly Miners Centre for the Community, Watford Road, Caerphilly between 10am and 1pm. Bring your broken household items, clothing, and electrical goods, and let our dedicated volunteers give them a new lease on life. Donations are welcome.

🕺 Too Much Too Young – The Story of 2 Tone is a two-hour theatrical show that celebrates the iconic genre and its lasting influence. Tickets cost £23.10 from Caerphilly Workmen’s Hall website. Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7.30pm start. Limited tickets available on the door.

Sunday October 6

🏉 Caerphilly RFC is holding a celebration of the life of club stalwart Fred Brookes, who sadly passed away recently, at the Virginia Park ground at 2pm.

🦅 Spread Eagle and New Generation Superstars are playing at The Patriot, Crumlin. Doors open at 6.30pm. Tickets at £16 available from The Patriot’s website. Ages  18+

Monday October 7

🗑 Keep Wales Tidy will be leading a litter pick from Caerphilly Library, between 10am and 11am, and Rhymney Library between 12pm and 1pm as part of Green Libraries Week.

Tuesday October 8

🗑 Another Keep Wales Tidy litter pick is happening at Risca Library, between 10am and 11am, and Abertridwr Library between 12pm and 1pm as part of Green Libraries Week. Nelson Library is on Wednesday October 9 between 10am and 11am.

Thursday October 10

🥔 Crafty Legs Farmers’ Market is being held at Ffos Caerffili between 10am and 4pm. Explore a wide range of fresh, local produce in this ‘celebration of local food and community’.

🗑 Keep Wales Tidy will be leading a litter pick from Bargoed Library, between 12pm and 1pm, as part of Green Libraries Week. All are welcome. Blackwood Library also between 10am and 11am and again on Friday October 11 at Ystrad Mynach Library between 10am and 11am.

🧘‍♀️ Dr Karl Phillips, of Machen, will be launching his latest book The Third Way at Caerphilly Library at 6.30pm. The new publication is described as a “mind, body and soul book” by the author.

Friday October 11

🎵 Aber Valley Male Voice Choir, with special guest Joanne Griffiths, are performing an evening of classic pop and musicals at St Helen’s Church, Caerphilly, at 7pm. Tickets, costing £7.50, are available from choristers or Trevor Davies on 07443591381.

🎭 Lee Mead, star of television and award-winning West End leading man, is at Newbridge Memo with his show The Best of Me at 7.30pm. Tickets available from the Memo’s website and cost between £25 and £27.50.
