It was knock-out rugby for teams across Caerphilly County Borough over the weekend, with sides taking a break from league action as they battled in their respective cup competitions.
Bargoed and Cross Keys both reached the next round of the WRU Premiership Cup after earning wins on Saturday October 5.
The Bulls beat Cardiff Met on the road, winning 27-23, while the Keys thumped Llangennech 47-11.
Elsewhere, three borough sides were competing in the WRU Championship Cup, with Penallta cruising to a 61-17 win at home to Cambrian Welfare.
There was also a win for Bedwas, who defeated Rumney 30-15 at the Bridgefield, but there was no such joy for Ynysddu, who suffered a 34-26 loss at home to Mountain Ash.
Over in the Division 1 Cup, Nelson fell to a narrow 29-27 loss away to Llanishen, while Abercarn suffered the same fate in the Division 2 Cup, losing 41-17 at home to Llantwit Fardre.
Over in the Division 3 Cup, Rhymney advanced to the next round following a high-scoring 45-31 win at home to Llandaff.
They will be joined by Fleur de Lys, who advanced after beating Nantyglo 25-3 at home.
However, Oakdale were knocked out after a 36-24 home defeat to Chepstow.
Meanwhile, Bedwellty secured a win in the Division 4 Cup, beating Bettws RFC 36-26 away.
However, Crumlin‘s cup run came to an end with a 36-12 home defeat to Pontyclun, while Pontllanfraith exit after losing 28-5 away to Whiteheads.
Down in the Division 5 Cup, six Caerphilly County Borough sides played over the weekend, with results mixed.
Blackwood Stars dismantled Hirwaun at home, running out 52-15 winners, while Hollybush won on the road, defeating Whitchurch 26-20.
But there was disappointment for New Tredegar, who narrowly lost 24-22 at home to St Peters Athletic.
Hafodyrynys also tasted defeat, losing 23-15 away at Llandrindod Wells, while Bargoed Athletic were on the wrong end of a 39-12 scoreline away to Rumney Athletic.
Trinant‘s trip to West Mon was postponed.
