Steve and Janet have been based in Caerphilly for 15 years

Lucky 7 Tattoo and Piercing has recently celebrated 15 years of business in Caerphilly, with husband and wife owners thanking friends and customers for their support.

After first opening on Van Road, Caerphilly, in 2009, Steve and Janet Davies soon built-up a reputation in the area, before moving to their current base on Windsor Street in the town centre in 2014.

Speaking to Caerphilly Observer about the shop, Steve said: “We’re very proud. There aren’t many businesses in the area who can say they’ve lasted this long, and we’re so thankful to everyone who has supported us.

“Jan has the piercing business while I do the tattoos. We’ve had lots of guest artists who’ve rented spaces here over the years too.

“I always say you’re only as ever good as your last piece of work. Fortunately we’ve had people come from all over to get stuff done, with most coming back.”

Steve thanked friends and customers for their support over the years

Despite their success, it hasn’t all been easy for Lucky 7, who found both the pandemic and Brexit difficult to deal with: “Brexit has been the worst thing that could have happened to us”, Steve said. “Stock prices have doubled which has knock-on effect”, he added.

“We’re proud to say we haven’t had a price increase in eight years though. But like everyone at the moment, we are feeling the pinch.”

Asked how the pair celebrated the anniversary, which was officially on September 28, Steve said: “We actually went on holiday which was nice, but we also ran some promotions and a raffle.”
