Caerphilly County Borough teams were in action on Saturday November 30

Defeats and postponements were the story in a disappointing weekend for Caerphilly County Borough clubs in the WRU Premiership.

Newbridge slipped to a 26-19 defeat at Bonymaen, while Bargoed were beaten 36-10 away to Newcastle Emlyn.

The results see Bargoed drop to fifth in the table, behind Newbridge who actually climb above them into fourth.

Cross Keys, whose Pandy Park home was badly hit by the recent Storm Bert flooding, did not play on the weekend, with their home clash with Llangennech postponed. They remain tenth in the division.

Meanwhile, Penallta are up to third in the National Championship East following a big 45-12 win at home to Treorchy.

Bedwas remain second after being St Peters 52-31 away from home. However, Ynysddu have dropped to ninth after a 31-13 defeat at Aberdare.

Down in Division 1 East, Senghenydd rise to fifth after beating Pontypool United 39-14 at the Welfare Ground, while Nelson stay fourth despite a 33-21 loss at Abertillery.

Elsewhere, Blackwood have made it nine wins from nine after beating Caldicot 22-19 away from home in Division 2 East – strengthening their grip at the top of the table.

At the other end of the division, Risca fell to their eighth defeat in nine league games – losing 24-12 at Cwmbran to stay bottom.

Abercarn, who are eighth in the table, did not play as their trip to Garndiffaith was postponed.

Over in Division 2 East Central, league leaders Caerphilly have extended their 100% winning record to nine games following a 27-3 win at Cilfynydd.

Meanwhile Rhymney, who sit top of Division 3 East, were also victorious on the weekend. They beat New Panteg 25-14 at home.

Elsewhere in the division, Machen are up to third after a 25-17 win at Caerleon. They overtake Fleur de Lys, who drop to fourth after losing 29-22 at Chepstow.

Meanwhile, bottom-of-the-table Oakdale remain winless following a 22-17 home defeat to Abertysswg Falcons, who sit one place above them.

There was another all-Caerphilly County Borough clash in Division 4 East, with Pontllanfraith defeating Crumlin 25-12. The result sees Pontllanfraith move up to seventh, while Crumlin drop to sixth.

Bedwellty remain fourth, despite their home clash with Crickhowell being postponed.

In Division 5 East, Blackwood Stars beat Abersychan Alexanders 22-16 away from home to rise to third in the table.

Above them is second-place Deri, who beat Beaufort 36-3 away to keep the pressure on league leaders Tredegar Ironsides.

The Ironsides were due to play Hafodyrynys at home, but that game was postponed.

Meanwhile, points were shared as fifth-place Hollybush hosted Hartridge – with the game finishing 17-17.

Down in Division 6 East A, New Tredegar sit top, despite not playing on the weekend. Third-place Trinant also didn’t play – while bottom-of-the-table Cwmcarn United saw their trip to Brynithel postponed.

It was a similar story in Division 6 East Central. Bargoed Athletic‘s visit to Cardiff Met Athletic was called off, as was Penallta Athletic‘s home clash with Tondu Athletic.
